Description

Journalist and historian Colin Smith discusses his book, England's Last War Against France: Fighting Vichy 1940-1942.

Britain's costly land, sea and air war against France is within living memory, yet rarely mentioned. For the first time, Colin Smith weaves together all the campaigns Britain fought against the Vichy French -- plus the smaller actions that occurred in between such as the French bombing of Gibralter -- in one continuous narrative history with due regard for all their political and social context.
