Description
Melinda Blau discusses Consequential Strangers.
About Melinda Blau
Melinda Blau has been researching and reporting about relationships and social trends since the seventies. In Consequential Strangers she and co-author Karen Fingerman look at the importance of social ties with people other than family and close friends -- such as shop keepers, occasional sports buddies, and of course librarians. We get information and new ideas and experiences from "consequential strangers" that we can't get from our loved ones. A new place doesn't feel like "home" until you know a few consequential strangers.
Blau has written more than eighty magazine pieces and a dozen other books, including the best-selling Baby Whisperer series. She also blogs for Psychology Today and More magazines.
