Description
You gotta have style. It helps you get down the stairs. It helps you get up in the morning. It's a way of life. Without it, you're nobody.
--Diana Vreeland
Lisa Immordino Vreeland presents the biography Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel.
Born in Paris in 1903, Diana Vreeland was an American original whose impact on fashion and style was legendary. Beginning in 1936, when she became a fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar, Vreeland established herself as a controversial visionary with an astonishing ability to invent and discover fashion ideas, designers, personalities, and photographers. In addition to Harper's Bazaar, she also worked at Vogue and the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
