Programs Manager

The American Library in Paris is seeking a programs manager, overseeing all aspects of the Library’s public programming in collaboration with colleagues and the director. The position entails booking authors and other speakers, planning, publicizing, and overseeing events, contributing to Browser, the Library blog, and coordinating the Library’s book groups.

A background in and a passion for books and the literary scene, strong spoken and written skills (in English and French), ability to handle a multifarious workload, and record of working  closely with colleagues and easily with the public are all essential.

The position is half-time – two days and one evening per week – and the salary is modest. European working papers required. References will be requested. We are looking to fill the position immediately.
