The American Library in Paris makes parts of its collection available through InterLibrary Loans (ILL) to institutions that are not members and/or are too far to come and consult our resources in person. Note that there is no ILL between institutions located in Paris.
A €12.00 fee will be charged per request, to cover processing, as well as copying and postage when applicable.
- Books can be loaned to institutions/libraries for a period of 6 weeks. When loaned, books must be consulted on the premises of the borrowing institution.
- Photocopies or scans of journal/magazine articles can be provided (after the second photocopied page, an additional €0.20 per page will be charged).
Please contact the reference librarian to enquire about the availability of your bibliographic reference. You should provide as precise a reference as possible. Please mention if you would like to borrow or get a copy or scan of the requested source.
Our librarians will help library members locate materials that are not available in our collection. These materials include books, recordings, microfilms and copies of articles. If a source is located outside of the Paris area, ILL can facilitate access to it via other libraries, whenever possible. This, however, might incur charges. For more information, contact a librarian at the Reference Desk, or by email. Please note that this service is offered to members only.
