The Library provides staff skilled in supporting learners and the learning process, offers resources in print, media, and digital formats, and space for individual and small group study. The children's department boasts a large, diverse collection of books and audio-visual items for children and teens. Our ever-changing series of member programs and events for children includes our Mother Goose program, a lap-sit for one- to three-year-olds. Three- to five-year-olds are invited to our weekly Wednesday story hours, and children ages 6 to 12 discover new topics every Saturday, or learn about familiar subjects in greater depth. Teen programs on Friday or Saturday evenings have featured Method Acting workshops, as well as screenwriting, fiction, and poetry writing workshops for young adults. The children's department is staffed by a full-time librarian, ready to help young people with research or to recommend a good book for all ages, interests, and reading levels. The Library has a variety of materials of value to parents, teachers, homeschool programs, childcare providers, and families, as well as a range of programs suited for all ages.
