Gifted in France will hold its second annual Paris Spelling Bee at the American Library in Paris on the afternoon of Sunday 7 June. The event is open to any interested child between the ages of 7 and 13.

Last year, 18 children from a cross-section of Paris schools made bee history by participating in our first event. EABJM’s Alissa Johnson, 8, won the trophy in the 7-9-year-old Gazelles group, and EAB Lamartine’s Amélie Matisse, 10, won the competition for the 10-13-year-old Cheetahs. Second-place trophies went to 7-year-old Jack Souami (from Ecole Velpean/The Roaming School House) for the Gazelles and 11-year-old Shannon Connelly (from EABJM) for the Cheetahs.

Prospective participants must take a qualifying test on Sunday 4 April, as only a limited number of children can be accommodated.
