About Michael House

Michael House's production company, Sit Up Straight Films, makes films on the arts which have been broadcast and screened internationally.

Eugène and Berenice tells the story of the Parisian photographer Eugène Atget and his artistic counterpart, the American photographer Berenice Abbott. It also offers a photographic exposé on the cities of Paris and New York, told with the subjects own still photos, complimented with period archive footage. The film also includes rare interview footage with Berenice Abbott and comments by contemporary artists and photographers. Eugène and Berenice has been shown in eight countries and was chosen for inclusion in the 27ème FIFA Art Doc Festival in 2008.
