Description
The Library welcomes Ambassador Stapleton, former ambassador to France, to speak about his new book, written in collaboration with Louise McCready. Where Liberty Dwells, There is My Country, a collection of biographies of twentieth-century US ambassadors to France, explores the personal and professional lives of these successful politicians, businessmen, and soldiers who served as the US president’s personal representative during the most challenging events of the last century.
About the authors
Craig Roberts Stapleton served as ambassador to the Czech Republic (2001-2004) and France (2005-2009). He serves on the Boards of the 9/11 Memorial Commission and the George W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation.
Louise French McCready works at Vogue magazine and contributes regularly to The Huffington Post, Edible Manhattan, and Edible Brooklyn. Her next project is a book about iconic closed bakeries across the US.
