When:
Fri 22 April 2011
Category:
For Young Adults

Description

image_for_booksAs most of you know, the Young Adult collection will soon be moved to the new Teen Mezzanine and we’re looking for some up-cycled art from local teens to decorate this new space.

Participants will each be given one very well-used book (that would otherwise be thrown away) to incorporate into a piece of wall art. Other mediums (paint, markers, clay, etc) may be used as well, but the art must be mountable.

Criteria for submissions:
  • Participants must be between the ages of 12 and 17
  • Design must include part or all of a discarded book
  • Design may not exceed one square foot
  • Be sure to note your name, age and email address clearly (let us know if you would like the art to be returned to you if it is not chosen for the display).
Come in and pick up your book at the American Library in Paris beginning April 1st. Submit your original art to the youth librarian by 7pm on Earth Day (April 22nd). Winning pieces will be displayed in the Teen Mezzanine beginning in May.
