About the authors

David Downie is an American author and journalist who divides his time between France and Italy. For the last 20 years he has been writing about European food, culture and travel for magazines and newspapers worldwide. He is the author of Food Wine Burgundy, Quiet Corners of Rome, Paris City of Night, and Paris, Paris: Journey into the City of Light as part of Broadway Books’ prestigious “Armchair Traveler” series. Penelope Rowlands was raised in London and New York and has lived intermittently in Paris. A journalist and critic, she has contributed to Vogue, the Wall Street Journal, The Daily Beast, Architectural Digest, and The New York Times.
