Description

"I first studied photography in high school in the UK, learning how to create a surrealist specialty - the photogram or rayograph and more conventionally to shoot in black and white, to process films in the complete dark and print under a red light. Before I made the switch to digital, my mantra was "film is your cheapest commodity". I then studied digital photography and art direction at the New England School of Art and Design in Boston and at RISD in Providence, Rhode Island. A couple of years later, in Paris, I joined a class entitled Documentary Photography in an attempt to get some people into my work. This exhibition, "The Other Side of Paris", had its seed sown in those classes. My latest mantra is "keep your eyes open" and this principle guides my new work, I look for irony, beauty and the unexpected in everyday lives."
